Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 30, 2026

Introduction

Kurry ("we", "our", or "the app") is a collaborative music queue application that integrates with Spotify. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

Information We Collect

Spotify Account Data

When you connect your Spotify account, we access:

  • Your Spotify display name and profile picture
  • Your Spotify account type (to verify Premium status)
  • Playback control permissions (to play, pause, and queue tracks)
  • Access to your available devices

Session Data

When you create or join a session, we store:

  • Your chosen display name
  • Session codes and participant information
  • Queue data (track IDs, names, and vote counts)

How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you with Spotify and enable playback control
  • To create and manage collaborative music sessions
  • To display the current playing track and queue to session participants
  • To enable voting on queued tracks

Data Storage

Your Spotify authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser. Session data (display names, queue items, votes) is stored in our database for the duration of the session. When a session ends or you disconnect your Spotify account, your data is deleted.

Third-Party Services

This app uses the Spotify Web API to provide its functionality. When you use this app, you are also subject to Spotify's Privacy Policy. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. Your Spotify credentials are never stored on our servers - only locally in your browser.

You have the right to:

  • Disconnect your Spotify account at any time from the app settings
  • Request deletion of your session data
  • Revoke app access from your Spotify account settings

Disconnecting Your Account

You can disconnect your Spotify account at any time by clicking the "Disconnect Spotify" button in the host settings. This will:
